Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Cooperation in Financial Intelligence

 A high-level delegation led by Zaur Fatizade, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Financial Monitoring Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, paid an official visit to Astana at the invitation of the Head of the Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan.

The visit focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in combating the legalization of criminally obtained property and the financing of terrorism, as well as fostering experience exchange. During the meetings, both parties discussed the latest technological advancements in the sphere of financial intelligence and explored new avenues for collaboration.

This engagement contributes to the expansion of regional cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States and plays a crucial role in strengthening bilateral ties in line with the national interests of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. It further reinforces economic stability and the security of financial systems in both countries.

As part of the visit, representatives of the Kazakh financial monitoring authority delivered presentations on key areas such as engagement with obliged entities, strategic analysis, the development and maintenance of a beneficial ownership register, analytical capabilities of financial intelligence units, and innovative approaches to detecting crimes involving cryptocurrencies.

This visit marks another step forward in Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan cooperation, reinforcing joint efforts in the fight against financial crime and strengthening regional financial security.
