From January 26 to 30, 2026, the 26th meetings of the Working and Regional Groups of the Egmont Group were held in Arusha, Tanzania, bringing together representatives of the Group, international partners, and observers.

The Financial Monitoring Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan was represented at the meeting by Fuad Aliyev, Director of the Cooperation Department and Chair of the Membership, Support and Compliance Working Group of the Egmont Committee. During the event, Nurlan Babayev, Director of the Department for Cooperation with State Authorities and Beneficial Ownership Analysis of the Financial Monitoring Service, was elected Deputy Chair of the Information Exchange Working Group of the Egmont Group.

As a global platform, the Egmont Group facilitates and promotes the exchange of information, knowledge, and cooperation among member financial intelligence units. It also provides a secure framework for sharing expertise and financial intelligence in efforts to combat money laundering, related crimes, and the financing of terrorism.

More than 400 representatives from 182 member jurisdictions and international organizations participated in the meetings.
