The Financial Monitoring Service (FMS) organized an online training session on December 24, 2024, for law enforcement and supervisory authorities, focusing on international cooperation and the identification of beneficial ownership.

Arzu Khalilova, Head of the FMS International Cooperation Department, led the training with a detailed presentation on contemporary strategies in international collaboration, information exchange techniques, and cross-border cooperation mechanisms.

The first session, titled “International Cooperation, Information, and Document Exchange,” emphasized the potential for effective cross-border collaboration and the best practices for sharing information between jurisdictions.

In the second session, Ms. Khalilova explored informal cooperation channels and the exchange of information regarding the ultimate destination of assets. She also shared practical insights into tracking property ownership and the use of informal methods in international cooperation.

The training further covered mechanisms for concealing beneficial ownership through the use of different identities and discussed innovative strategies to combat such practices.
