A delegation from the Financial Monitoring Service of Azerbaijan actively engaged in the 30th plenary meeting of the Egmont Group held in Paris, France, from June 2 to June 7, 2024. Hosted by Tracfin, the French Financial Intelligence Unit, the event convened 400 representatives from Egmont Group members and international partners worldwide.

During the plenary discussions, the Financial Monitoring Service representative delivered a presentation titled "Enhancing the Role of Next-Generation Financial Intelligence Units in Combatting Tax Crimes." The presentation underscored Azerbaijan's commitment to advancing global efforts against financial crimes.

Additionally, the delegation reviewed the application of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's financial monitoring body for EG membership and presented a project focused on the horizontal analysis of mutual evaluation reports within the European regional group.

The event also saw the election of a new chairman and deputy chairman for the Egmont Group, which currently boasts membership from 177 countries. As a pivotal global organization, EG facilitates the exchange of information, expertise, and financial intelligence crucial to combating money laundering, related crimes, and terrorist financing.
