Online Workshop Highlights Compliance Requirements for Internal Control Programs

On 12 June 2025, the Financial Monitoring Service organized an online training session on the topic of “Requirements for Internal Control Programs” for representatives of supervisory authorities and obliged entities.

The main objective of the event was to support obliged entities in developing internal control programs in the field of combating the legalization of criminally obtained property and the financing of terrorism, in accordance with legislative requirements, institutional risks, as well as the scale and nature of their activities.

During the training, participants were provided with comprehensive information on the measures to be implemented within the internal control framework, customer due diligence procedures, internal rules and processes for assessing customer profile risks, methodologies, and procedures for identifying beneficial owners, and independent audit mechanisms.

The trainer also presented practical examples based on real-life cases.

The training, which was attended by over 200 participants from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Central Bank, the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, and various obliged entities, concluded with an active Q&A session. The session featured broad discussions among participants and provided clarifications on current issues.
