Training Session Addresses Legalization of Illicit Property and Terrorism Financing

On June 28, 2024, the Financial Monitoring Service and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy jointly organized a training session focused on "Combating Legalization of criminally obtained property and the financing of terrorism." The event aimed to enhance awareness and compliance among non-financial institutions and professionals in these critical areas.

Nurlan Babayev, Kifayat Nasirli, and Nilufar Abdullayeva from the delivered presentations on key topics such as "The role of non-financial institutions and professionals in the field of combating legalization of criminally obtained property and the financing of terrorism", "The importance of conducting risk assessment according to customer profiles", "Customer compliance measures and challenges encountered".

The training session concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where lawyers and obliged entities had the opportunity to seek clarification and exchange detailed insights on the discussed topics.

A total of 76 participants attended the training, underscoring the commitment of professionals to enhancing their understanding and implementation of measures against financial crimes.
