On May 25 of this year, a Memorandum of Understanding on the prevention of the legalization of criminally obtained property, the financing of terrorism and predicate crimes was signed between the Financial Monitoring Service of Azerbaijan and the Supervisory and Financial Information Authority of Holy See/Vatican City.

The Memorandum, signed at the bilateral meeting held in Strasbourg, France, within the framework of the 65th plenary meeting of the MONEYVAL Committee will serve the purpose of advancing towards the establishment of mutually beneficial relations between both authorities, as well as developing effective information exchange in the field of AML/CFT.

As a consequence, the existing economic, cultural and diplomatic relations between the two countries will be expanded in the field of AML/CFT.
