Awareness Session on AML/CFT Organized for Students

On February 25, an awareness session focused on strengthening public understanding of the fight against money laundering and counter terrorist financing (AML/CFT) was held for students at Azerbaijan State Economic University. The primary goal of the event was to inform students about international AML/CFT standards, national legislation, and the role of the Financial Monitoring Service.

In their opening remarks, Fuad Aliyev, AML/CFT expert, and Hafis Hajiyev, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at the university, welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of the session.

Students majoring in "Finance" and "Accounting" received comprehensive information on the concept of AML/CFT, international standards, national legislation, and the activities of the Financial Monitoring Service. A special video on the operations of financial intelligence units was demonstrated, helping participants better understand the topic.

One of the key highlights of the session was the presentation of the Financial Monitoring Service’s Electronic Learning Platform. Students had the opportunity to explore the platform's modules and educational resources, and ask questions about its usage and materials.

At the conclusion of the session, the importance of utilizing educational resources and committing to continuous learning was emphasized. Such sessions play a vital role in enhancing students' knowledge of financial security and transparency principles while improving their skills in the field.
