On February 12, 2026, the leadership of the Financial Monitoring Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a meeting with a delegation led by Anna Bordon, Head of Mission to Azerbaijan at the International Monetary Fund.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the measures implemented since the adoption of the mutual evaluation report by the MONEYVAL Committee of the Council of Europe in 2023. It was noted that consistent steps have been taken to implement the recommendations outlined in the report, including improvements to the regulatory framework, strengthening institutional capacity, and further development of supervisory and risk-based approaches.
As a result of these efforts, the progress report submitted to the MONEYVAL Committee of the Council of Europe in 2025 positively assessed Azerbaijan’s requests regarding seven recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force, leading to upgraded ratings in these areas.
The IMF mission head positively evaluated the reforms undertaken and emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation.
The meeting also included discussions on other issues of mutual interest and explored prospects for future collaboration.
