The Financial Monitoring Service actively engaged as a partner in the FINTEX SUMMIT BAKU international forum, organized by the Azerbaijan Banks Association on May 15-16, 2024. The forum featured a dedicated panel on "New trends in the banking and financial ecosystem" at the financial and technology exhibition.
During the panel discussion focused on combating the legalization of criminally obtained property and the financing of terrorism, several distinguished speakers contributed insights. Moderated by Fuad Aliyev, Director of the Cooperation Department of the Financial Monitoring Service, the panel included Togrul Aliyev, Director General of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azer Abbasov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Financial Monitoring Service, Nurlan Babayev, Director of the Department of Control and Law Enforcement, Almaz Musayeva, Director of the Compliance Department of Kapital Bank, Igor Nebyvayev, Independent International Expert, Aleksandra Bobilkova, Adviser to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime/
The speakers addressed various pertinent topics such as "AML/CFT control of financial activities of FINTEX companies", "New payment methods and AML/CFT risks", "The role of payment institutions and electronic money organizations in the field of AML/CFT", and "Analysis of KYC requirements of fintech companies and banks".
The forum concluded with a dynamic question-and-answer session, fostering dialogue and sharing of solutions to current challenges in the financial sector.
