On January 31, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the prevention of the legalization of criminally obtained property, related predicate crimes and the financing of terrorism was signed in St. Julian’s, Malta within the framework of the Egmont Working and Regional Group meetings between the Financial Monitoring Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Financial Monitoring Service at the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan.

The purpose of signing the memorandum is to further strengthen mutually beneficial relations between the two institutions, as well as to develop an efficient exchange of information in the field of AML/CFT. Thus, the historically diplomatic relations between the two countries will be facilitated in the field of AML/CFT entering a new stage.
