As part of COP29, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mr. Mikayil Jabbarov, held a meeting with Mr. Zaur Fatizade, Chairman of the Board of the Financial Monitoring Service (FMS), and Jerome Beaumont, Executive Secretary of the Egmont Group, the global network of Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs).

The meeting focused on the strategic objectives of the Egmont Group and the principles underlying financial intelligence units. Minister Jabbarov highlighted Azerbaijan's efforts to develop and enhance its financial monitoring framework in line with international standards, underscoring the importance of strengthening collaboration with the Egmont Group in this area.

Discussions also explored initiatives to advance the green economy, the role of fiscal mechanisms in promoting sustainable development, and opportunities for partnership in key areas. The meeting reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to fostering international cooperation to achieve shared goals in economic and financial development.
