In accordance with Article 5.2 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Targeted Financial Sanctions,” the international sanctions list has been updated following the decision of the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee of the United Nations Security Council dated January 16, 2023.
It should be noted that persons and entities subject to sanctions include those listed in the domestic list based on decisions of the courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as those included in the international list based on decisions of the sanctions committees of the United Nations Security Council.
The latest version of both the domestic and international lists has been published on the official website www.hms.gov.az.
In accordance with the Law “On Targeted Financial Sanctions,” reporting entities are required to immediately and without prior notice freeze the assets of designated persons and entities. This includes assets owned or controlled by them directly or indirectly, individually or jointly with others, as well as any assets derived from such assets. The obligation also extends to assets of persons and entities acting on their behalf or at their direction, as well as assets of entities owned or controlled by them directly or indirectly, individually or jointly with others.
