Financial Monitoring Service Showcases Innovative Approaches at Global Summit

Fuad Aliyev, representative of the Financial Monitoring Service, spoke at a panel discussion during the “Annual Summit on Combating Financial Crime in a More Complex World – 2025,” held on September 10–11, 2025, in Abu Dhabi. The panel was titled “Beyond the Broken Telephone Model: Building Modern Information-Sharing Platforms to Combat Cross-Border Money Laundering.”

In his remarks, Fuad Aliyev highlighted the importance of international cooperation and effective information exchange, addressing existing challenges and potential solutions. He emphasized the necessity of adopting innovative, “out-of-the-box” approaches, updating FATF standards, ensuring direct access of financial intelligence units to relevant databases, and developing effective responses to emerging threats.

The event brought together over 150 experts representing international organizations, financial intelligence units, regulatory and law enforcement authorities, as well as the private sector and civil society.
