On August 21, 2024, a training session titled "Fundamentals of Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, and the Role of Religious Organizations in Countering Terrorist Financing" was held in Quba. The event was organized jointly by the Financial Monitoring Service (FMS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, as part of a series of such training sessions.

The training was attended by Mr. Rafail Asgarov from the FMS, Mr. Cahandar Alifzadeh, Head of the Religious Affairs Department at the State Committee, Mr. Aslan Sultanov, a staff member of the same department, representatives from the Executive Authorities of local districts, and religious community leaders from Quba, Khachmaz, Qusar, Shabran, and Siyazan regions.

Participants were also introduced to the "Guidelines on the Application of Targeted Financial Sanctions" and provided with a new reporting template.

The session concluded with a Q&A session, addressing questions and providing further clarification on the topics discussed.

A total of 60 participants took part in the training.
